Our little princess just could not be denied this new sweater. It is pink and bedazzled. When there is a chill in the air she will be very diva-like in her pretty sweater.

lAST WEEK AFTER MUCH DEBATE, I DECIDED TO GET BUSTER SNIPPED. I DID QUITE A BIT OF RESEARCH AND NOTICED THERE ARE MANY HEALTH BENEFITS TO NEUTERING YOUR DOG. SO I GAVE IN AND TOOK HIM TO THE VET. HE WAS VERY GROGGY AFTERWARDS AND SLEPT PRETTY MUCH ALL DAY. HE WAS VERY SWOLLEN AND SORE, BUT HAS RECOVERED NICELY. HIS PERSONALITY HAS NOT CHANGE, ALTHOUGH I HOPE HIS DOMINANCE AT THE DOG PARK WILL.

I THINK HE HIS JUST DOING HIS THING.....HEARDING THAT IS, BUT I JUST DON'T KNOW. HE MAY BE FRUSTRATED AND THAT IS WHY HE WOULD GET A BIT TESTY TO OTHER DOGS. I HOPE DURING OUR NEXT VISIT TO THE PARK HE WILL BE LESS FIESTY. ONE THING THAT I DON'T LIKE ABOUT THE SURGERY IS THE FACT YOU CAN'T BATHE YOUR DOG FOR 10 DAYS..... ITS AWFUL BECAUSE BUSTER WAS COATED WITH IODINE FROM SURGERY AND SMELLED FUNNY.

TWO MORE DAYS AND IT WILL BE BATH TIME. OH YEAH AND THE LICKING... BUSTER IS NOT ALLOWED TO LICK HIMSELF. THAT IS LIKE TELLING THE SUN NOT TO SHINE. WELL, I HOPE I DID THE RIGHT THING BY HIM. I DO FEEL IT IS THE BEST THING TO DO FOR YOUR PET SO THEY HAVE A HEALTHIER AND HAPPIER LIFE.

SINCE THE SUMMER OF 2011 I HAVE FOSTERED SEVERAL DOGS AND THEY ALL HAVE FOREVER HOMES. ONE OF THEM ENDED UP STAYING WITH ME AND JOINING OUR CORGI PACK. HIS NAME IS BAYLOR AND HE IS A BLACK LAB. HE REMINDED ME SO MUCH OF OUR LAB NIKITA WHOM PASSED AWAY IN FEBRUARY 2008. HE HAS BEEN A GREAT ADDITION. OUR FIRST FOSTER WAS ALSO A BLACK LAB WHOM WE NAMED HARLEY, SECOND WAS A LITTLE WEE BIT OF A PUPPY NAMED LOUIE, THIRD WAS A COLLIE MIX NAMED PRECIOUS, AND FOURTH WAS A TERRIER MIX NAMED RIGBY. ALL OF THEM WERE SPECIAL AND WILL ALWAYS BE IN OUR HEARTS AND PRAYERS.

Buster has started keeping his favorite toy ball very close to him. He is now putting it in his food ball so that Chloe can't get it. It so funny.

THE WEATHER HAS BEEN VERY HOT, SO HOT THAT CHLOE AND BUSTER HAVE BEEN SHEDDING LIKE CRAZY. SO I JUST COULD NOT TAKE IT ANYMORE AND TOOK THE CLIPPERS TO CHLOE'S LONG COAT. SHE DID NOT SEEM TO MIND AND BEHAVED VERY WELL WHILE THIS MACHINE SHE HAS NEVER SEEN RAN ITSELF ALL OVER HER WITH THE EXCEPTION TO HER SCRUFF AND HEAD...I just couldn't go any further but it turned out ok I think.

ITS HOT BUT I WOULD RATHER THIS THAN THE COLD AND GRAY DAYS OF WINTER...brrrr!  CHLOE SEEMED TO ENJOY THE BIG TUB OF WATER...SHE DIDN'T KNOW WHETHER TO DRINK IT OR SIT IN IT.

BUSTER ALTHOUGH NOT READY TO JUMP INTO A BUCKET OF WATER DOESN'T SEEM TO MIND IF HE GETS A LITTLE COOLED OFF, AND NO MATTER WHAT HE STILL ENJOYS THE HUNT FOR SQUIRRELS IN HIS YARD.

BUSTER, CHLOE, AND HARLEY JUST WERE ACHING TO COOL OFF FROM OUR 100+ DEGREE WEATHER. I WAS QUICK TO PLEASE THEM. CHLOE AND HARLEY LOVE THE WATER SPRINKLER....BUSTER NOT SO MUCH.  BUSTER LIKES GETTING WET ON HIS TERMS NOT AT THE HANDS OF A SPRINKLER. THEY ALL FELT SO MUCH BETTER AND IN THE MOOD TO PLAY.

Buster and Chloe have become Foster siblings to a Black Lab named Harley. He is a 4 month old precious boy that needs a forever family. He reminds us a lot of our Lab Nikita. Harley has been with us for a few days and has been fun to be with. He is mostly laid back, which is good considering that Buster and Chloe although they have unwillingly become foster siblings still need to adjust to having a youngster around.

I decided to volunteer my time and home to
Operation Pets Alive so as to help out dogs in need. I have never fostered before because I feel that it will be hard to part with the dog when the time comes to give it up, but I know that it is a good thing to do. So far, Harley has been an excellent guest and I have no complaints. He is going to be an awesome family dog for the family that chooses him.

He has not even eaten any shoes or wires. I am trying to train him to be the best he can be. He loves walks, playing ball, and chasing the kids. He also loves water, as he has displayed his passion with my water sprinkler. He sleeps well at night and does not cry. He also is crate trained which is great when I need to leave him home. Chloe has not exactly greeted him with open paws. She stays clear of him, but at times she approaches cautiously. Buster is the big dog around here, so-to-speak, and lets Harley know it. I am sure in time they will be good friends.

Finally!!! Spring has arrived and so has sun and warmth. Buster and Chloe just love their new yard. They sit out there enjoying the soft grass and sun on their faces. The tulips, daffadils, and petunias are exploding with color and sweet fragrance. Chloe found a great spot to relax and Buster spent some time with his buddy Godiva. The benefit of winter is that it makes you appreciate Spring. The Corgis seem to believe that too. I found out that Buster has another buddy... its a lizard that seems to like hanging out in our garden. Buster will just sit there and wags his butt... since he has no tail..ha.ha, while watching this lizard. It is so funny. I need to have my camera ready for when he visits again.
