FOR BUSTER AND CHLOE A GOOD SHAVE WAS AN ANSWER TO THEIR PRAYS AND PANTING!!! THE HEAT IS EXTREME AND CALLED FOR EXTREME MEASURES. THE TWO OF THEM JUST KEPT DROPPING FUR AT A CONSTANT AND FRUSTRATING RATE....I MEAN MY VACUUM COULD ONLY TAKE SO MUCH. SO I BROKE OUT THE CLIPPERS AND SHEARED AWAY THE PAIN. I THINK THEY LOVE THE FREEDOM OF COOLNESS !! (:
THEY LOOK A LITTLE ODD BUT NO MATTER WHEN ITS THIS HOT GOING SHORT IS THE ANSWER!
THE WEATHER HAS BEEN VERY HOT, SO HOT THAT CHLOE AND BUSTER HAVE BEEN SHEDDING LIKE CRAZY. SO I JUST COULD NOT TAKE IT ANYMORE AND TOOK THE CLIPPERS TO CHLOE'S LONG COAT. SHE DID NOT SEEM TO MIND AND BEHAVED VERY WELL WHILE THIS MACHINE SHE HAS NEVER SEEN RAN ITSELF ALL OVER HER WITH THE EXCEPTION TO HER SCRUFF AND HEAD...I just couldn't go any further but it turned out ok I think.
CHLOE BEFORE HER NEW LOOK....
CHLOE AFTER......
I EVEN DID HER BELLY...
ITS HOT BUT I WOULD RATHER THIS THAN THE COLD AND GRAY DAYS OF WINTER...brrrr! CHLOE SEEMED TO ENJOY THE BIG TUB OF WATER...SHE DIDN'T KNOW WHETHER TO DRINK IT OR SIT IN IT.
BUSTER ALTHOUGH NOT READY TO JUMP INTO A BUCKET OF WATER DOESN'T SEEM TO MIND IF HE GETS A LITTLE COOLED OFF, AND NO MATTER WHAT HE STILL ENJOYS THE HUNT FOR SQUIRRELS IN HIS YARD.
BUSTER, CHLOE, AND HARLEY JUST WERE ACHING TO COOL OFF FROM OUR 100+ DEGREE WEATHER. I WAS QUICK TO PLEASE THEM. CHLOE AND HARLEY LOVE THE WATER SPRINKLER....BUSTER NOT SO MUCH. BUSTER LIKES GETTING WET ON HIS TERMS NOT AT THE HANDS OF A SPRINKLER. THEY ALL FELT SO MUCH BETTER AND IN THE MOOD TO PLAY.
Finally!!! Spring has arrived and so has sun and warmth. Buster and Chloe just love their new yard. They sit out there enjoying the soft grass and sun on their faces. The tulips, daffadils, and petunias are exploding with color and sweet fragrance. Chloe found a great spot to relax and Buster spent some time with his buddy Godiva. The benefit of winter is that it makes you appreciate Spring. The Corgis seem to believe that too. I found out that Buster has another buddy... its a lizard that seems to like hanging out in our garden. Buster will just sit there and wags his butt... since he has no tail..ha.ha, while watching this lizard. It is so funny. I need to have my camera ready for when he visits again.
WELL WE DIDN'T GET SNOW, BUT LOTS OF ICE IN TEXAS. CHLOE SAT BY THE WINDOW ALL DAY STARING AND WAITING. SHE ENDED UP GETTING SLEEPY AND JUST TOOK A NAP. I DID NOT HAVE MY CAMERA HANDY SO I USED MY CELL PHONE CAMERA. SHE LOOKS SO STRESSED DOESN'T SHE.
We just may see snow in Texas in the next few days which is rare. Buster and Chloe will be most excited. I caught them sitting by the window waiting for Old Man Winter....or maybe they are just looking for Phil the Groundhog. Just yesterday I was wearing sandals. It was 70 degrees in the early morning hours, 6 am, and within 20 minutes of a front moving through it dropped down to 40 degrees. This morning it was 19 degrees and with the wind chill it feels like 9 degrees. OK ya'll what is going on here. This is southern Texas not New England. Well it will just last a few days and the doggies are loving the chilled air.
